What you need to know and Have

BEFORE YOUR TRIP
Your custodian for your week will be calling the group organizer one week in advance for any other information required and to make sure you have all the information you need prior to arrival.

WAIVER
Anyone participating on a trip with MHR needs to pre-read the waiver(link to waiver). MHR will supply you with a printed version of this waiver at the lodge, where it will then need to be signed.

WE SUPPLY

Kitchen: a four burner propane stove top and oven, ample coolers for storing frozen goods, a simple fridge for non-frozen goods, all pots, pans, baking items, and utensils. We also supply toilet paper and biodegradable soap for dishes and general hygiene.
*Sleeping: we supply all bedding*

Internet connection only at Custodian hut; only used for weather reports, CAA Avalanche bulletins, and "wisegoat" reports.

EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT AT THE LODGE AVAILABLE TO SELF-GUIDED GROUPS:
A light portable cascade rescue toboggan, spine board, leg splints, oxygen, and a 50-meter rope. There is a rescue plan with the important Phone #. You and your group are responsible for any other first aid gear needed. We recommend that you all carry a small first aid kit, while you are skiing. It is mandatory that you have an avalanche transceiver with fresh batteries installed, a probe and a shovel. We recommend you bring spare batteries for you transceiver.

COMMUNICATION
We have satellite radio communication at the guide / custodian cabin. If you are up at the Lodge and there is an emergency at home and you need to be contacted the satellite phone will be on from 7:30 to 8:30 AM every morning. We also have an answering service linked to this phone and the custodian will check the messages twice a day. In an emergency from home call 1 600 701 4219. Please have your family members refrain from calling in regards to a delay on the day of your flight out, if you can not fly out, you can contact them from there once this is clear

YOU SHOULD BRING
16 AA's for a docking station for ipod/mp3 player, hut shoes, snow boots and a towel for the sauna. If you like, bring some essential oils for sauna. For hut rental only, bring #6 coffee filters and tea towels. If you like to use paper towels, please bring your own.

Battery recharging capabilites at custodian hut for guests camera/players,etc. Must bring their own chargers.

VHF radio

3 are available to guests, however if you lose the radio you are responsible for replacement cost. 24 AA batteries needed for them ,however we also supply rechargeable power packs for these 3 radios.

Manditory equipment
each participant on one of our backcountry ski trips must bring: a small personal UHF Radio, avalanche beacon - fresh batteries for both - a collapsible shovel and a probe, we recommend collapsible probes over ski pole probes.
